Chinese New Year 2020 : Wealth In the Year of the Rat

With the pineapple tarts ready to be served and placing money notes in the red packets to give out to our loved ones, the New Year is around the corner as we prepare ourselves emotionally, mentally and financially for the year of the Rat. So what’s the relation with the Year of the Rat especially tying it into the business world? 

Rats are always known to be quick thinking and resourceful. They’re also considered to be full of imagination and also very sharp in observation therefore grabbing every opportunity it has. In the Chinese zodiac sign, the rat comes first of all the other animal zodiacs. This comes from a myth whereby the Jade Emperor invited all of the animals to his party. The rat tricked an ox in tagging up on top of the ox but when they reached near the Emperor’s gate, the rat quickly made a dash to the entrance and made known to be the first animal to arrive. It also represents the yang between the yin and yang, making known to represent the beginning of a new day. 

Businesses should make wise yet fast decisions in their finances as the year will roll in a new way of doing things. Technology and IT will play a big part in the business environment in the Malaysian market where it will integrate with traditional industries such as in the agriculture, healthcare, food, construction, education, retail and also in the investment sector. 

We should take up the traits of a rat as we roll in the year in preparation of these new changes where we have to be quick to equip the right mindset and attitude to be involved more in learning new ways of doing things.
